What is the AGC-PAC?

AGC/PAC stands for Associated General Contractors Political Action Committee. It's a voluntary non-profit, bipartisan organization that is affiliated with the Associated General Contractors of Kansas.

WHAT'S AGC/PAC'S PURPOSE?

The primary purpose of AGC/PAC is to lend financial support and recognition to state legislators and candidates who recognize the importance of the Construction Industry in Kansas and show a tendency to support AGC policy positions.

HOW IS AGC/PAC FUNDED?

AGC/PAC is funded by voluntary contributions from AGC members. AGC dues are not used or transferred to AGC/PAC.

WHY IS A PAC NECESSARY?

It is a fact of life in today's political arena. To be a major player in the legislative process, AGC can't wait for other groups to help elect legislators and then lobby them when there is a problem. PAC contributions don't "buy" legislative support, but they help gain access to lawmakers. It also shows that contractors appreciate support by both urban and rural legislators.
